Elks Announce Winners of District Hoop Shooting Contest at Riverside – Press Enterprise

The Town of Riverside recently partnered with the Riverside Elks Lodge to host the 50th Anniversary Hoop Shoot Free Throw Contest, held at the Orange Terrace Community Center in Riverside.

In the competition for children aged 8 to 13, each participant shoots 25 free throws. The winners are the boy and girl in each age group with the most baskets.

Competitors in the Dec. 11 hoop competition represented four of the Elks’ southeast district lodges – Riverside, Moreno Valley, Fontana-Rialto and Ontario.

The winners in the 8-9 division are Noah Pinkard, representing the Fontana-Rialto Elks Lodge, and Kira Lea, representing the Riverside Elks Lodge.

The winners in the 10-11 division are Nathan Pacheco, Ontario Elks Lodge, and Kyla Lea, Riverside.

The winners in the 12-13 division are Noah Ramgel, Riverside, and Madilyn Hidalgo, Ontario. .

They will participate in the Semi-State competition to be held on February 12 in La Habra, according to a press release.

The Hoop Shoot is a national Elks program, with the national final scheduled for April 30.

Leslie Fisher is program chair for the Southeast District of the California-Hawaii Elks Association.
